Israel’s diplomat expelled from Britain over Mabhouh’s murder
Britain is to exorcise an Israeli diplomat over the use of fallacious British passports by perpetrators in the murder of Hamas official Mahmoud Mabhouh in Dubai earlier this year
Diplomatic sources were reported as asserting that the diplomat in question was not Israel’s ambassador and that Britain was not accusing Israel of involvement in the killing
British Foreign Secretary David Miliband however, is expected to issue a statement in Parliament concerning the matter.
Al-Mabhouh was killed in a hotel room in Dubai on January 19. Authorities confirmed the assassination was carried out by members of Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad. Israel however has declined to confirm or deny the allegation
Israel’s ambassador to London, Ron Prosor, was called in February to give details of his country’s suspected involvement in the Palestinian militant’s murder.
