Israeli gunboats intercept Libyan vessel, force it to return

GAZA, (PIC)– Israeli naval gunboats on Monday intercepted a Libyan boat that was loaded with food and medicine to the besieged Gaza Strip and forced it to return to the Egyptian Arish coastal waters.

MP Jamal Al-Khudari, the head of the Popular Committee Against the Siege, said that contact with the ship was severed for a while then the crew told him that the Israeli gunboats forced them under gunpoint to return to Arish.

He explained that the navy boats intercepted the ship, which carried 15 million dollars worth of relief aid, as soon as it approached the Palestinian territorial waters.

The MP condemned the Israeli aggressive practice that aims at tightening the noose on the Palestinian people, and added that options are now being weighed on how to deal with the situation.

Determination is still on regarding sending more ships to the besieged Strip along with any other possible means to break the “oppressive siege,” Khudari said.
