Israeli raid targets tunnel in southern Gaza

Israeli warplanes raided one of the tunnels on the Egyptian-Palestinian borders south of Rafah on Sunday night, local sources said.

They told the PIC that the warplanes fired at least one missile at a tunnel in Jaradat area east of Rafah border crossing but no casualties were reported.

The Israeli warplanes routinely blast tunnels dug along the borders by the Gaza inhabitants to secure their needs in the wake of the Israeli tightened siege and closure of crossings for more than three years. Israel claims the targets are in retaliation to the firing of home made rockets from the Strip.
