Journalist Detained For Covering Security Assaults on Fayyoum Students

The Fayyoum security apparatus raided the house of Ahmed Seif El-Nasr, El-Dustour paper correspondent in Fayyoum, at 2 a.m. Friday morning, April 4, and arrested him after his coverage of the security assaults on MB students in Fayyoum University.

No accusations were laid against El-Nasr up to this moment as he remains detained in Fayyoum Bandar prison where he was denied access to food which led the journalist to declare a hunger strike in protest against his detention and the bad conditions of his confinement.

El-Nasr was arrested after covering the Fayyoum incident which witnessed assaults at the hands of the bully-backed security apparatus against Fayyoum University MB students last Wednesday injuring many including one student who was afflicted with cerebral concussion followed by the arrest of dozens of others and their presentation before prosecutors who ordered their detention for 15 days on the pretext of assaulting university security men.

State security investigations have also been pressuring Fayyoum Public Hospital to prevent their issuance of medical reports on the conditions of the injured students in an attempt to cover-up on the heinousness of the crime committed against these students.
