Justice And Development Party Wins the Majority in Moroccan Cities

The Justice and Development Party has achieved the first place among other groups in elections as it won 734 seats while Al-Estiklal part came in the second place with 655 seats and Al-Asala and Moasara party won 648 seats.


The party came in the first place in eight cities (Al-Dar Al-Bayda, Wajda, Alkantira, Tamara, Abi AlJad, Araiesh, Shefshawn and Rashidiya) as it gained the majority among 12 other groups.


 


Despite the campaign against the party and was intensified before the elections and  caused the dismissal of the Mayor of Meknas city was dismissed, the Justice and Development Party achieved significant progress in the groups it runs as it won the majority and won the first place in Tamara and added six more seats in each of (Sela Tabrikt group with 6 seats and Yakob Al-Mansour group with one seat) and maintained the same result in each of Arzo , Wislan group in Meknas, Sidi Elbarnousi group and Kasaba Tadla group. 


 


It is worth noting that the Justice and Development Party had in the urban areas a number of 3807 candidates and won 822 seats that is 21.59% and in governorates it had 1396 candidates and won 263 seats, that it 18.84%.


 


For his part, the Secretary-General of the party Dr. Abdel Ilah Ben Kiran, stressed that collective elections revealed that money is a major factor in morocco and that the “corruption” party has used money as well as bullying in order to affect the results.


 


He described the city of Fez as “devastated” and stressed that there is a mafia which dominated it with money, influence and bullying as the members of the party were attacked on the day of elections and added that ” the headquarter of the party in the city of Al-Qasr Al-Kabir was attacked by militias and one of the party members had his arm broken while a house of another in Tawnat city got burnt”.


 


“among the weird things that happened that day is the smuggling of the ballot boxes in Sidi Rahal and I called the Ministry of Interior more than once that day and he denounced these acts”.
