Katatny: No FJP Member Was Involved in Bribery

Dr. Mohamed Saad Katatni, Secretary-General of the FJP, stressed that the party was not in any way involved in such a bribe incident, as the person named is not a member of the party, nor does he represent the FJP in any polling station. He has never been a member of the Muslim Brotherhood either. In fact, a closer look at the issue revealed that the judge in question, president of the named polling station, never accused the said delegate of bribery, he never linked him to the FJP in any way, either.

It is evident that the involvement of the FJP in this matter was pure slander by certain parties that rushed to accuse the party without verifying the absolutely unfounded lies. This is part of an organised vicious campaign of deliberate defamation, libel and slander by certain press and media institutions owned by businessmen loyal to the former regime. Therefore, the party is taking legal action against these institutions which have clearly violated all codes of honour and professional journalism.

The great Egyptian people – who already knows us well – realise that such crooked behaviour is definitely far removed from the way the party’s ethics and modus operandi. We are well known for never resorting to such treachery, even under the persecution and repression of the former regime, that stood between us and all our constitutional rights. Is it at all logical for us to commit this heinous crime while we enjoy the great Revolution ethics and the vast freedom in which we live now…

May God save Egypt and grant her the blessings of safety, security and stability
