Katatny Extends Wishes to Tunisians in First Democratic Experience

Freedom and Justice Party’s (FJP) Secretary General, Dr. Saad Katatny, welcomed the beginning of the elections in Tunisia today as voters took to the ballot boxes to choose the National Assembly.

He called on all political factions and trends in Tunis to unite with a common cause. “Now is the time for all to disregard differences for the elections to be successful. The elections should be reflective of the people’s will and demonstrate the success of the Arab Spring as Tunisia embarks on the road to democracy; the first democratic experience since the uprisings,” he stressed.

Katatny warned of any foreign intervention which may hinder the democratic process. “It is imperative that all factions on the political landscape accept the outcome of the elections,” he added.
