Katatny Welcomes Rebels’ Control of Tripoli

Following the news of the rebels’ control of Tripoli, Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Secretary General Dr. Saad Katatny said in a press release Sunday that it was a fitting end to all oppressive and corrupt dictators and that the Syrian and Yemeni dictators should learn from this example.
Katatny praised the Arab Spring which led to the toppling of leaders in Tunisia and Egypt and the trial and jailing of corrupt officials. “The Arab Spring will remain strong till each and every dictator is ousted. The people have awakened and will no longer tolerate oppression,” he said.
Katatny maintained that the Libyan resistance is proof of the people’s patriotism and their will and persistence in fighting their own battle away from foreign interference.
He called on the Syrian and Yemeni leaders to heed these Arab Revolutions and to step down and immediately halt the bloodshed against their people.
“History has shown that bloodshed will end once freedom is acquired. The people have realized resisting oppression and dictatorship is a step closer to freedom and democracy,” he added.
