Khudari meets with delegation of int’l council of Swedish industry
MP Jamal Al-Khudari, the head of the popular committee against the siege, met with a delegation of the international council of Swedish industry who visits the Gaza Strip to get informed about the humanitarian and economic conditions, urging the delegates to convey the image of the humanitarian situation in Gaza to the world.
In a statement received by the PIC, MP Khudari briefed the delegation on the worsening economic situation in Gaza and the impacts of the blockade and the Israeli war, which destroyed dozens of factories and led to the shutdown of more than 97 percent of them.
The lawmaker pointed out that the Israeli occupation authority continues to block the entry of raw materials and construction needs to Gaza which led to the collapse of the industrial sector, adding that the direct monthly losses of the industrial sector amount to more than $16,000,000.
The lawmaker called on the delegation to work on reviving the collapsed economy of Gaza and to pressure Israel to stop its arbitrary measures in all aspects of life especially the economy.
