Lawyers’ strike postpones MB trial
A request by defense lawyers to postpone the hearing the case of the Muslim Brotherhood leaders on alleged charges of money laundering was agreed by the Supreme State Security Courts since members of the defense team had joined a lawyers’ strike because of an ongoing crisis between lawyers and judges. The defense team requested permission for Osama Suleiman the only defendant present in Egypt and currently in detention, to be sent to hospital for treatment for a back injury. The defense also appealed for consent to provide his family with financial assistance since his bank accounts and assets have been frozen.
