MAS Organizes National Emergency March In Washington

The Muslim American Society’s Freedom Foundation (MAS Freedom) is co-sponsoring a National Emergency March on Washington, Saturday, August 12, to protest the current predicament of Muslims abroad and at home.  The
rally, which is expected to attract tens of thousands, will be held in Lafayette Park, across from the White House, at 12 noon.

Major demonstrations will also be held August 12 in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.

While the National Emergency March on Washington and the rallies on the West Coast will focus on the plight of the Palestinian people and the continuing atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon, they will also focus on the war in Iraq, in addition to the ongoing violation of civil rights and civil liberties within the American Muslim community.

MAS Freedom is encouraging people who live outside the Washington, DC region to ride buses sponsored by MAS Freedom and to carpool with family and friends. Utilizing the D.C. bound buses is highly encouraged.

MAS Freedom asks that everyone who is financially able pay for their bus ride and we urge that those who cannot attend make a generous contribution to allow those who do not have the means to pay for their bus ride to participate in the rally.
