MB accuses deposed Mubarak and regime of murder and torture
Muslim Brotherhood’s top defense lawyer Abdel Monem Abdel Maqsoud, has stated that the MB is preparing a file of the violations committed by a number of state security leaders against members of the MB during Mubarak’s era.
A complaint will be submitted to the Attorney General against former President Hosni Mubarak, in his capacity as the Head of Supreme Council of the Police, accusing him of being responsible for the killing of two members of the MB; Mossad Qutb, who died in the state security headquarters in 2003 and Ayman Al-Zoheiry, who died in the deportation car in Cairo.
The complaint also includes accusations against former Interior Ministry Habib Al-Adly, and Hassan Abdel Rahman, former head of State Security Investigations and a request for re-opening the investigations in the death of the two.
Abdel Maqsoud added: “The charges will include killing and torturing a number of MB members”, pointing out that they are currently collecting hundreds of complaints of torture from MB members in the different governorates to include it in the file which will be submitted to the Attorney General. The MB will also file cases for compensation for the MB members after determining the economic losses of the MB members and leaders due to the state security practices against them.
Rashad Bayoumi, Deputy Chairman of the MB, stated in his article that the MB will file a case against state security leaders including Major General Fouad Allam, who used to supervise the daily torture of Bayoumi in Abu Zaabal prison.
Abdel Maqsoud also stressed that the MB will call for re-opening the investigations in the killing of Kamal El-Sananeiry, MB leader who was arrested in the arrest campaign of 1981.
