MB Appeals for Protecting Palestinians against Imminent Israeli Aggression
The Muslim Brotherhood issued an appeal-which was signed by the chairmen of Muslim Brotherhood in Syria, Tunis, Libya-calling on the world to step in and help the Palestinian people who have come under heavy attacks by the Israeli forces which swept Gaza for one soldier “The World is before a real test of the slogans of love and peace that we raise, and the fight of discrimination among people on racial or religious grounds”
The statement wondered how an entire people is punished for one soldier, and stressed on preserving human rights and dignity enshrined in the doctrines of Islam. The MB leaders deplored the starvation policy adopted by Israel, aided by the US and other countries against the Palestinian people for voting for Hamas “[Israelis] did not stop at the starvation policy but they also embarked on a war of extermination against the Palestinian people”
The statement also lashed out at the double standard policy adopted by the US which turns heavens and earth if a rocket falls on an Israeli settlement while turning a blind eye when Israeli Occupation Forces commit brutalities and massacres "We, along with the entire world, are to blame for these massacres due to our silence over these crimes against humanity" the statement said.
The MB leaders reaffirmed “We are against terrorism whatever its religion or nationality, but we draw a demarcation line between terrorism and legitimate resistance recognized by all international covenants and laws” calling on the international community and the Security Council to instantly step in to stop [Israeli] violations
The statement predicted the Israeli occupation will inevitably come to an end sooner or later, and praised the Palestinians who “offer their souls to die for the sake of freedom for their nation”
The MB leaders stated that the Israeli crimes are an indication that Israel is not committed to peace, and criticized the support provided by the West to Israel which the statement considered “collaboration with [Israel] in killing innocent Palestinians”
