MB Backs Arab League Initiative on Lebanon

After the latest political crisis that emerged in Lebanon, the Arab League rushed to mediate to solve the crisis as Mr. Amr Mousa, the Arab League Secretary General, and Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, the advisor of the Sudanese president and the League’s envoy, visited Lebanon; Mr. Amr Mousa will visit Lebanon again today.

Some newspapers reported the so called the Arab League’s initiative regarding Lebanon which includes approving forming a national unity government that includes the guaranteeing third according to rules and conditions, and returning to the table of dialogue to agree- in parallel- on the details of the unity government, the International Court and both presidential and Legislative elections in addition to stopping the media and political escalation, demonstrations and sit-ins.

The Muslim Brotherhood supports- in principle- the Arab League’s moves whenever any political crisis emerges in the region, so that the League becomes really the haven of the Arabs to which they can resort if there is any problem.

Also, the Muslim Brotherhood sees that the items of that initiative deserve support, and it urges all Lebanese parties to approve it and start to implement it in order to end the current internal strife that may lead to disastrous consequences on Lebanon and its people.

Also, the Muslim Brotherhood urges the Lebanese parties to make their stances reflect their awareness of the threats encompassing Lebanon, and the conspiracies and greeds of the Zionist enemy that occupies a sisterly neighboring country and parts of Lebanon, in addition to the US plans in the region.
