MB Bloc Demands Int’l Probe into Border Killing of Egyptian Girl

A number of members of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) parliamentary bloc called on Egyptian Foreign Minister to immediately to move and hold an investigation into the killing of an Egyptian child by Israeli soldiers fires on Egyptian borders on Thursday Feb, 28th, 2008. They called for holding an international investigation into this incident and the other previous incidents, confirming that the Israeli occupation soldiers recurrent random shooting of fires on the Egyptian side of the borders is a violation to the peace accord signed between Egypt and Israel , and even threaten its sustainability.
 
Members of parliament Hisham Al-Qadi, Tharwat Abdul Fattah, Mahmoud Helmi and Mahmoud Mogahed said- in written questions and urgent statements submitted to the Foreign Minister- that Israel has been infringing into the peace treaty since a while and the Egyptian government definitively knows of this violation but it remained silence. Due to this silence, the Israelis have violated the peace treaty. In the near past, IOF killed Egyptian soldiers inside Egyptian territories and nowadays they killed a girl after they killed a relative of her a while ago.
 
The MPs described what happened on borders as a humiliation to the Egyptian dignity and sovereignty. Citing the repeated crimes across borders against Egyptians, they said that the Israeli occupation soldiers do not care for Egyptian citizens. “Has the life of the Egyptian citizens deteriorated to such a degree”.
 
The members of parliament warned against any lenient treatment with the Israeli side after violating the peace agreement and killing Egyptian soldiers, children and civilians inside Egyptian territories. Such incidents are testing the Egyptian reaction. Unless the Egyptian response lives up to the level of this crime, we may face even more serious repercussions.
 
The MPs drew a comparison between what the Egyptian girl faced by Israeli soldiers fires and what happens against children in Gaza . They pointed out that the Israeli occupation army kills children so carelessly because they know very well that no probe into such incidents will be held like what happened in the past.
 
Egyptian authorities have declared on Thursday Feb, 28th, 2008, that Egyptian girl Samah Nayef Abu Garad, 13 years, was shot to death while playing in front of her house near an Israeli watchtower at Karam Abu Salem crossing. She died just after she was moved to Al-Arish hospital.
