MB calls on Army Forces for intervention to save documents

Large numbers of protesters surrounded the state security headquarters in numerous governorates in Egypt while others attempted to break into the buildings after witnesses confirmed state security officers had burned important documents inside.

The Protesters believed security officers were trying to destroy possibly self-incriminating evidence by burning the documents.

Protesters managed to enter the building and found documents cut and shredded inside the offices, fuelling suspicions that the security officers were trying to destroy incriminating evidence.

The military put out the fire and summoned representatives from the attorney general to inspect the sites and investigate the incidents.

Officers responded by firing in the air to disperse the protesters. According to Eyewitnesses cars carrying several files drove off fast and protesters failed to catch up with them.

Army forces were deployed around the buildings as leaders attempted to appease the protesters, promising to keep the papers safe. Opposition groups including the MB have called for quick intervention to save what they described as important documents.
