MB chairman expresses sorrow over death of Moderate Islamist Scholar Dr. Fathi Osman
The Muslim Brotherhood’s chairman Dr. Mohamed Badie expressed his sincerest sympathy and grief on the death of Intellect and scholar, Dr. Fathi Osman. He died Saturday at his home in Montrose California from heart failure at 82.
An Egyptian American expert on Islam Dr. Osman was recognized, throughout the world, as a pioneer contemporary Islamic thinker amongst scholars of his era and was considered the voice for modernism in Islam. He wrote more than 25 books in Arabic and English, including “Concepts of the Quran” a unique English-language commentary on the Quran that presents the challengingly subtle and discursive text in a format organized by topic which was regarded as a milestone in enabling English speakers to understand the Quran.
