MB Chairman Meets with Hamas Leader, Hails Prisoners Deal
Muslim Brotherhood (MB) Chairman, Dr. Mohamed Badie, met Thursday with Hamas’ political bureau leader Khaled Mashaal and a Hamas delegation at the group’s headquarters in Cairo. During the meeting, Badie congratulated Hamas and the Palestinian people for the success of the negotiations and the swap of prisoners with the help of the Egyptian intelligence, describing it as avictory.
"The Islamic and Arab world welcomed the agreement viewing it as a positive beginning to the reconciliation agenda anticipated by both the Muslim world and the Palestinian state," Badie said.
For his part, Mashaal commended the role played by the Egyptian intelligence in completing the agreement, describing it as patriotic and heroic. "Egypt will always play the key role in Arab issues and in particular the Palestinian issues," he stated.
The delegation which accompanied Mashaal included Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, Osama Hamdan, and Mohamed Nasr.
