MB Chairman Meets with Lebanon’s PM Designate ; Offers Condolences
A delegation from the Muslim Brotherhood led by Chairman Dr. Mohamed Badie met with Lebanese Prime Minister designate Nageeb Mikati on Thursday.
The unprecedented meeting comes as the MB delegation,which included spokesman for the MB’s Freedom and Justice Party Dr. Saad el Ketatni,and MB deputy Gomaa Amin, travelled to the Lebanese capital to offer condolences following the death of the former secretary general of the Jama’at Islamiya,Sheikh Faisal Mawlawi. Normally MB members were denied the right to travel by the former regime which attempted to stem any official dialogue abroad.
The meeting discussed the current events in the Arab world, and in particular Egypt, as all present agreed that there were failed attempts by counter revolutionaries to defame the image of political Islam.
All present asserted that national unity both in Egypt and Lebanon was significant for the progress and development of the Arab and Muslim world.
