MB Defense Appeals against Asset Confiscation Today

Cairo Court of First Instance examines today an appeal lodged against the Prosecutor-General’s decision, decreeing confiscation of assets belonging to 29 MB court-martialed businessmen and their families last February.

It’s decided for the defense panel to demand adjournment of the session for fulfilling required papers from competent authorities as commercial register and tax authorities. The 68 sequestrated companies are not purely possessed by the court-martialed businessmen; some shares of these companies owned to non-MB affiliates.

Note-worthy, this is the fifth session on this case; because the prosecution denied the defense all case documents under the pretext that the case documents were referred to the military prosecution.
