MB Families File a Complaint to the NCHR

On the 1st anniversary of the notorious military tribunals, a delegation from the families of the MB court-martialed leaders will file a complaint to the Egyptian National Council for Human Rights tomorrow afternoon.

The complaint revolves around the extra-legality of referring civilians to military courts and constant violation of the detainees” basic human rights.

Worth-mentioning, the Egyptian regime referred 40 MB-affiliated reformists to military tribunals, the procedure which regarded by political analysts as failure of the regime”s promises towards democratization and bringing about pluralistic and healthy political life.

Such crackdown started in Dec. 14 / 2006, when the police-backed state security launched dawn raids on the houses of MB leaders, including Khairat Al-Shater”s, the MB Deputy Chairman and the group”s no 3. although four civil competent courts verdicted collective acquittals and instant release of the MB leaders, the regime insists on sidetracking the judiciary and continue its security agenda.
