MB MP: Widespread Financial Corruption in Ministry of Education

MP Tharwat Ismail (Member of the Parliamentary Education Committee- Member of the MB Parliamentary Bloc) stressed, in an exclusive statement to Ikhwanweb, the widespread financial corruption in the Ministry of Education, despite the fact that this ministry is for service not for profit. He also explained that the reason behind the former Minister”s resignation is his trial to detect and reveal the financial corruption in the Ministry.


Ismail spoke about one of the corruption incidents where the ministry contracted to buy 28,000 computer, for seven thousands each , although the real price would not be higher than two thousands.


With 30 of the officials in the Ministry of education –ranging from Heads of departments, heads of administration, heads of centers- abstaining from providing a financial disclosure revealing their income sources and the amount of their savings to the Illegal Earnings body, according to the routine procedure which takes place each six years with those of leadership positions within the Ministry.


Ismail has stressed that he would apply requiring confinement regarding this issue, for the officials to provide their financial disclosures or to be taken to the Criminal Court.
