MB’s Al-Shater, Leaders to Military Court

MB’s Al-Shater, Leaders to Military Court

Eng. Khairat Al Shater, the second deputy chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), and some MB leaders were transferred to a military court.

To prove the Egyptian regime’s flagrant disrespect to law and human rights in its criminal treatment against the Muslim Brotherhood and its leaders, the Supreme State Security Court issued a ruling of transferring Eng. Khairat Al Shater, the second deputy chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood, and a number of the group leaders to the military court on charge of belonging to an outlawed organization and money laundry.

It is worth mentioning that this the second time in which Khairat Al Shater is transferred to a military court; he was sentenced for 5 years in 1995 in the first one .

Eng. Al Shater, 15 MB leaders and 140 students from Al-Azhar University students were arrested on Thursday Dec., 14, 2006 after Al-Azhar University students performed a sportive parade .

Cairo Criminal court issued early this week a ruling of immediately releasing Eng. Al-Shater and other 15 MB leaders, but another arrest warrant was issued against them and there were detained again .

This is the seventh military court to which Muslim Brotherhood members and leaders are referred.
