Mishaal calls for open campaign as of Tuesday to protect J’lem and Aqsa
“This is the beginning of an open-ended campaign for Jerusalem and the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Palestine,” Mishaal said in a speech during an emergency meeting held on Monday by the alliance of Palestinian forces in Damascus.
The political leader of Hamas called on the Palestinian people in Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied lands to carry out a continued program and make serious steps to protect the Aqsa Mosque from Judaization and demolition as well as all Christian and Islamic holy sites.
He also invited all Gaza and West Bank people to participate in this open campaign and support their brothers and sisters in the occupied Palestinian lands.
The Hamas official warned the international community of the dangerous consequences of their silence towards the Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the West Bank, saying that Israel is playing with fire that will spark a war in the whole region.
For his part, Ahmed Jibril, the secretary-general of the popular front for the liberation of Palestine-general command (PFLP-GC), called during the meeting for dissolving the Palestinian Authority (PA) and launching a comprehensive Intifada in all Palestinian areas.
Jibril considered the calls for ending the negotiation with Israel “prosthetic solutions”, stressing that the fundamental solution is the removal of the PA which had achieved nothing for the Palestinian people and their national cause for 18 years.
Dr. Ramadan Shallah, the secretary-general of the Islamic Jihad Movement, for his part, warned in his speech that if Israel was let to carry out its attacks and schemes against Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque, the way then would be open for mass deportation of the Palestinian people.
Dr. Shallah urged the Arab League to declare an end to the Arab peace initiative and confirm the Palestinian people’s right to defend themselves and their land by all means.
In the same context, Hamas representative in Lebanon Osama Hamdan said on Monday that the opening of the ruin synagogue is part of the Zionist scheme that is aimed to create an invented history of the Israeli occupation in Jerusalem.
Hamdan told Al-Jazeera satellite channel that the Judaization campaign started in the holy city with a series of practices represented in imposing restrictions on Jerusalemites, building the segregation wall, isolating Jerusalem and then the opening of the ruin synagogue.
He underlined that Israel’s synagogue in Jerusalem was renovated after it failed to find a clear deep-rooted religious landmark referring to the historical Jewish presence in the city, so it sought to create a history for itself through re-building a 200-year old synagogue which was built at the time of the Ottomans.
For its part, the association of Palestinian scholars abroad called on the Arab League and the organization of the Islamic conference to announce Tuesday a global day of anger in support of the Aqsa Mosque and all holy sites in Palestine.
The association urged the Arab and Muslim nations to organize protests in their countries and support the Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian lands.
The Islamic action front party and the Muslim brotherhood group in Jordan also called for announcing Tuesday a day of anger for the Islamic holy sites in Palestine.
They stressed the need for mobilizing all energies and efforts of the Muslim nation to create a serious resistance program protecting the holy sites.
They also expressed their belief that the third Intifada will take place soon despite the PA attempts to curb the Palestinian people and resistance fighters.
