Mishaal in Cairo next Sunday

The political bureau chairman of the Hamas Movement, Khaled Mishaal, is expected to visit Cairo next Sunday at the head of a senior delegation to discuss with the Egyptian leadership Palestinian reconciliation efforts.

Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman in Gaza, said in a press release on Wednesday that the Movement’s delegates would discuss with Egyptian officials their country’s proposed draft on forging Palestinian national reconciliation.

He added that Hamas was dealing with the Egyptian document with a positive attitude and was keen on ensuring success of any effort leading to an end to the internal Palestinian division topped by the Egyptian effort.

Cairo had tabled a document with the Palestinian factions early September explaining its views on means of ending the Palestinian rift.
