Mishaal welcomes any initiative to support the Palestinian cause
Khaled Mishaal, the head of the Hamas political bureau, welcomed Sunday any initiative to support the Palestinian cause, highlighting at the same time his Movement”s position in support of the inter-Palestinian reconciliation which guarantees the Palestinian people”s right to resistance.
In a press conference held in Khartoum, Mishaal reaffirmed that his Movement does not seek to exclude Fatah from the political scene, but it refuses retaining Fatah as the only Palestinian reference.
Regarding the bilateral relations between Hamas and Khartoum, the Hamas leader expressed his pleasure at the size of political, financial and media support provided by Khartoum for the Palestinian cause, hailing the level of relations between the two sides as “deep-seated.”
Mishaal also stressed the need to return to the national accord document signed in Cairo in 2006 in order to initiate inter-Palestinian dialog, adding in another context that Hamas can never work for one axis against another in the region.
