Mohamed Ali Bishr’s Family Urges Intervention to Safeguard his Rights, Health
The family of Dr. Mohamed Ali Bishr, senior leader of the Muslim Brotherhood and Minister of Local Development in legitimate President Mohamed Morsi’s government, said: "Dr. Mohamed Bishr attended a session at the prosecution service Saturday (November 22) and was clearly in poor health, as coup authorities refused to give him or allow his family to bring him necessary medication, blankets, food or clothes".

In a statement, the family added: "Dr. Bishr has been sent to the notorious Aqrab (Scorpion) Prison without trial, where he is kept in squalid conditions, in a very cold cell teeming with insects, not fit for human habitation.

"Attempts by his family and lawyers to bring Dr. Bishr medicines, food, blankets or clothes were rejected by junta security forces, both during his session at the prosecution service and as he left for Aqrab Prison."

Dr. Bishr’s family urges all parties concerned to intervene to grant him his natural rights and to stop his health deteriorating during the period of pre-trial detention (on false charges).
