Morsy: Alexandria’s Church Bombing a Flagrant Attack Affecting One and All
Dr. Mohamed Morsy,  member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Executive Bureau and the group’s Media Spokesman, described the attacks on an Alexandria church as a flagrant attack which has affected the lives of each and every Egyptian.

The blasts took place during a New Year’s Eve service held outside the Saints Church in the Mediterranean port city of Alexandria on Saturday, killing 21 people and wounding nearly 100 others. The attack was similar to an attack in Nag Hammadi on Coptic worshippers on Christmas Eve of 2009.

In an interview with Al-Jazeera Live Saturday evening, Morsy described the blasts as a threat to Egypt’s stability, which all divine religions explicitly forbid. He claimed it was imperative that strict measures be taken against the perpetrators, stressing that those responsible must be held accountable for the heinous crimes.

Morsy questioned whether it is possible that the Israeli’s genuinely wish for the stability of Egypt in playing a leading role in the region," adding “In whose benefit and major interest is it to destabilize Egypt’s stability and safety?”
Morsy underscored that the Muslim Brotherhood is adamant that there be national unity and internal collaboration within Egypt, stressing the significance of strengthening the solidity and relationship.
