MP Ashour requests information on laborer’s strikes
MP Magdy Ashour, of the MB Parliamentary bloc, submitted a request for information to the Prime Minister and Minister of Manpower regarding laborers’ frequent strikes
He pointed out that the deteriorating conditions of Egypt’s laborers are due to them being denied their fundamental rights, which occurs because the companies in which they work are heavily debited. The companies’ policy also deprives them of the assurance of being permanently employed, which causes stress and tension.
Laborers also oppose privatization, which denies the rights of laborers and Egyptians in favour of the owners of new companies and businessmen, which are present in Nazif’s government.
He stressed that these strikes oppose the way the market is directed under the government of the businessmen that disregards the rights of manufacturers and employees on low income in Egypt where wages have decreased and prices have increased. It also opposes the looting and corruption of the government, which cheaply sells companies belonging to the enterprise sectors, and state bodies without taking into account that these resources belong to the manufacturers.
