MSP Garners 83 Municipalities, More Than 1700 Voters
Algeria”s Movement for the Society of Peace (MSP) garnered in the municipal elections 83 municipalities, 45 municipalities more than the previous in which it was running 38 municipalities before these elections. The movement leaders voiced their satisfaction towards these results, describing them as a natural development for the movement, and that it has kept its leading position among Islamic parties.
For his part, Abu Jarra Sultani, the leader of the Algerian Movement for the Society of Peace (MSP), said that the movement”s win is attributed to its more realistic and clear political discourse in comparison with discourses of other political parties. Sultani confirmed that these elections changed the concept that Islamic movements use emotions to influence voters. Add to this the fact that the Algerian voter got fully convinced with the movement”s experience in running municipalities which it won in previous elections .
Sultani added that only a few violations were committed in these elections. Lowering the ceiling from rigging to mere violations is actually a good progress. The MB leader added that there should be a more return back on track to restore the trust of the citizen after he lost it due to policies of marginalization and oppression.
