Mubarak’s promise of free and fair elections fails to make headway
Mubarak’s promise of free elections during the upcoming Shura elections, appears to have started poorly as applications belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood bloc have been rejected for no apparent reasons. Dr Ali Barakat has been eliminated from Alexandria‘s, Shura nomination list much to the surprise of all
Campaigners for another MB candidate have been arrested in the Sharqiya governorate without reason or charges and are currently detained in State security headquarters
Candidates have been banned from making their rounds and campaigning making it difficult for the MB to present themselves to the public
It is expected that Mubarak’s ‘free and transparent’ elections process continue with further arrests and eliminations
