Muslim Brotherhood: Military Junta Jails and Kills Egypt Future Generation
Not content with killing the future generation of Egypt, earlier this week, the military junta’s kangaroo courts sentenced 221 detainees from Alexandria’s heroic revolutionaries to a total of 945 years in prison and total fines amounting to half a million Egyptian pounds. The charges against them were risible, and they were convicted without any credible evidence. Their only crime was that they demanded freedom and dignity for their homeland.
Ahmed Al-Gomri, member of the detainees defense committee in Alexandria, said: “We have passed the stage where verdicts are politicized; we’ve entered a new era where verdicts are vengeful. Judges and the prosecutors do not practice the simplest rules of professionalism when looking at protest-related cases; no serious investigation is carried out; and no assessment of the evidence is presented by their lawyers. Instead, they rely on the notorious State Security apparatus as the only source of evidence".
