Muslim Brotherhood Condemns Killing of Journalists in Iraq
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Gracious
The Muslim Brotherhood offers its deep condolences to Al Arabia Channel in particular and all media personnel in general on the death of the team of ’Special Mission’ program; the broadcaster Atwar Bahgat, the photographer Adnan Abdullah, the sound engineer Khaled Muhssen.
The Brotherhood regards the incident a calamity in media history and considers the three victims to be martyrs of duty and casualties of a repulsive occupation that disunite Iraqi people sparking sectarian strife among them. This situation produced an ignorant group that makes no distinction between innocent civilians and occupation forces and whose acts are wholly void of Islam, its teachings, and the true meaning of jihad.
The Muslim Brotherhood calls on militants in Iraq to abide by the Islamic rules; do not offend, trespass or desecrate protected subjects or innocent civilians.
We urge the team of al-Arabia Channel and all media personnel not to let these incidents undermine their determination to pursue truth which is the ultimate quest of genuine media and for which one may sacrifice every thing.
Allah Owns what He Takes and what He Gives. For Him, everything is preciously amounted.
Muhammad Akef, the Muslim Brotherhood’s Chairman
