Muslim Brotherhood Leader Heshmat: Revolution Continues Until Coup Defeat

In an interview on Al-Jazeera Live Egypt, on Monday, Gamal Heshmat, member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Shura Council, said: "With the inauguration of the traitor today, the countdown has begun for Sisi’s downfall and ouster.

"Now, Sisi is officially the top coup commander. He must bear the consequences of crimes committed in order for him to reach this moment which he admittedly had coveted for so long – to be president, even if it is at the expense of thousands of families who lost their loved ones, either by death, injury or absence in prison unjustly."

Heshmat pointed that neither the Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance nor the Muslim Brotherhood has the right to waive the people’s will as clearly expressed in their choosing Dr. Mohamed Morsi as their elected President in an evidently fair and free election; nor can they direct the people to stop all non-violent demonstrations or other acts of peaceful defiance.

Heshmat added: "The people have learnt their worthy way towards freedom and dignity. Sisi will not be able to muzzle and control the Egyptian people again".
