Muslim Brotherhood Message to Nation on Occasion of Eid Al-Adha

The Muslim Brotherhood offers sincere congratulations and prayers to the Arab and Muslim nation, and to the Egyptian people, especially the men and women of the January 2011 Revolution, detainees, the hounded, the oppressed, and all their families, on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. We pray next year we all will have set free popular will, achieved triumph for our Revolution, reclaimed our rights and freedoms, and ousted the military coup generals.

We offer special greetings of pride to Dr Mohamed Morsi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, who truly represented and expressed the will of the people and the January 25 (2011) Revolution. He raised high the name of Egypt in all international forums – the exact opposite of what the illegitimate usurper of power is now doing.

A special tribute, also, to all the martyrs of Egypt, and to their children and their families who have sacrificed in order to uphold the principles of truth, justice, freedom and dignity, and in order to build a promising future for a free and independent homeland where everyone enjoys stability, security, freedom and a decent life.

On this great occasion of sacrifice and redemption, the Hajj Pilgrimage and Eid Al-Adha, we call on our people and our nation to unite and cooperate, to do good, reject injustice and oppression, and shun the devil. Learn the Hajj pilgrimage’s greatest lessons. Thundering millions came from all over the world to answer the call of God. They circle the Sacred House in Mecca, chanting together as one: We obey the Word and Command of God. He instructed us to be one integrated nation, strong and united, and that we should stone the devil – symbol of injustice, oppression and corruption.

Let us make this a new start for the nation to unite to win back freedom and dignity, to endeavor for a brighter better future, wrest its democratic gains, and achieve its objectives, in Palestine, Iraq, Syria, Libya and Yemen, and in all the Muslim countries, especially in Egypt.

Let us all remember that our real day of festivity is the day our nation is freed from the grip of the corrupt, when prompt justice prevails, our nation lives in dignity, and the people wrest their rights from despots oppressors.

We ask God Almighty to bless our nation and to lift the injustice for all Muslims in all parts of the world, to liberate our holy places and our countries from all occupiers and criminals, to unite the nation, and grants it respite with victory, soon.

Look out for good tidings, and be prepared, for our nation is on a date with a victory – soon, God willing, after the throes of hardship and affliction it has been through.
