Muslim Brotherhood Spokesman Montaser: Egypt Junta Kills Homeland
They are killing the homeland in their desperate attempts to kill the Revolution. They are killing the nation in their attempt to make it bend the knee. In two short days, Egypt experienced three attempted murders that have miserably failed.
In the first attempted murder, the junta regime tried to kill Egypt’s youth and hope for the future. The heinous, traitorous putschists killed Anas Al-Mahdi in a junta prison cell.
Another attempted murder tried to kill the democratic experience in Egypt, passing mass death sentences against the first elected President and his top aides. Here, junta authorities tried to rob the people of the last democratic gains of the January 25, 2011 Revolution.
Then another desperate attempt Saturday aimed to ban all Ultras (football fan groups) and their activities in Egypt, an attempt to stop the rumbling sound and spirit of young Egypt, to rob youth of their freedom of expression.
But we have this to say to them: You cannot kill this homeland. This is a strong nation, with many selfless steadfast revolutionaries. Millions more like Anas Al-Mahdi will turn out to face your forces of evil. Our Revolution will be completed, and we will celebrate our elected President. You will not be able mute our voices or the voices of the Ultras. Our chants and cheers will continue to deafen your ears: Down with military rule.
The homeland will be defended. The Revolution will go from strength to strength. The free men and women of Egypt will never be broken.
