Muslim Brotherhood Statement on Upholding Death Sentences Against 7 Mansoura Youths
The Court of Cassation’s confirmation today of death sentences against seven Mansoura City young men (in Egypt’s Nile Delta) highlights the continuation of the military junta’s vengeful campaign against the Egyptian people who reject their treacherous coup.
The random verdicts issued by the coup court will remain a disgrace that will hang over the heads of the judges responsible for this – a disgrace that no length of time will erase from their black record.
The military junta is wrong to think that blocking in Egypt many websites, which have long uncovered coup crimes and scandals, will hide facts from the people and help them pass their unjust sentences away from the public opinion.
The people’s awareness and ability to understand the facts is beyond any ban or prohibition. They will get to the truth through various other media tools.
The Muslim Brotherhood reiterates that a powerful revolution by the Egyptian people – united as one – is the most effective way to deter the junta and rid the country of its evils.
The holy month of Ramadan is a great opportunity for anyone who still has a living conscience to stop walking along with this criminal gang fabricating charges, torturing citizens or issuing unjust sentences like today’s. Everyone should review their stance and return to their senses and the path of justice and Truth before a day comes when regret cannot help any.
