Muslim Brotherhood Warns Israel of Consequences of Irresponsible Acts
Muslim Brotherhood statement on continued Israeli aggression in the region
Days ago, Israel took advantage of ongoing battles in Syria, launching two airstrikes in Syrian territories and arresting Jerusalem’s most senior Muslim cleric.
This confirms that Israel has been planted in the heart of the Arab world to spread chaos, terror and aggression, and to break up Arab countries so as to grab full control of the region.
Unfortunately, this is done right under the nose of the United Nations, with the support and complicity of the United States, amid Arab and Muslim inability to take any deterrent action against the Israeli aggressors.
Earlier today (May 8), Israeli police arrested the Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, Sheikh Mohamed Hussein, accusing him of links to clashes that occurred Tuesday at Al-Aqsa Mosque when a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, while Palestinian Muslims were prevented from entering.
We strongly and completely condemn the Mufti’s arrest, which is a blatant attack and a severe violation of freedom of worship that every Muslim, and all free people reject, and which led to further clashes between Jews and Muslims outside the mosque.
Israelis should know that Al-Aqsa Mosque constitutes one of the tenets of faith for Muslims. It is their mosque which they will never give up. They will never give up the city of Jerusalem either, whatever the cost, whatever the sacrifices.
Israelis should learn from the example of Sharon and the end he met after desecrating Al-Aqsa Mosque. He was afflicted by God not to die, nor to live – but to remain an abject lesson for those who dare commit such heinous crimes.
Muslims should remember that we are approaching the beginning of the Muslim (Hijri) month of Rajab in which the Prophet Mohamed, peace be upon him, ascended from Mecca’s Grand Mosque to Al-Aqsa Mosque. They should seek to liberate it and the land of Palestine from their occupiers. They should take clear positions and crucial decisions to stop this usurper and occupier’s aggression against neighboring countries and the people of Palestine, including Jerusalem’s grand Mufti, not forgetting the duty to liberate all Palestinian prisoners.
