Muslim Brotherhood Welcomes Alan Johnston’s Release

The Muslim Brotherhood group has welcomed releasing the British BBC correspondent Alan Johnston by kidnappers in the Gaza strip after spending 114 days in captivity.
In a statement to Ikhwanweb, Dr. Mohamed Habib, the first deputy of the Muslim Brotherhood, stated that the Muslim Brotherhood group are very happy with the news of releasing “Alan Johnston” and eagerly welcome such step though it has been very late, and such decision was supposed to be made long time ago. The Muslim Brotherhood wished that such incident would not be repeated again.
Dr. Habib added, “We totally condemn kidnapping acts all around the world, to journalists, reporters, or any others. Such acts are denied and rejected by the Islam religion, and are contradicted with its true principles.
He has confirmed that similar acts much harm the Palestinian case and situation and its supporters.
Dr. Habib thanked all those who contributed in the process of releasing “Alan Johnston”, especially the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas. He also stated that the Muslim Brotherhood much appreciate the response and participation of Islam Army group, his kidnappers, towards the step of his release.
It’s worth noting that Johnston was handed over to officials of Hamas in the early hours of Wednesday morning after a successful process of exchanging the kidnapped between them and the Islam Army group. Such exchanging process was done by the public opposition committees in Gaza.
