Muthanna Al-Dari: Vast Areas In Baghdad Were Evacuated Of Inhabitants Because Of Sectarian Cleansing

Muthanna Harith Al-Dari (the spokesman of Iraq’s Muslim Scholars Association), confirmed in an interview with Ikhwanweb, that there are many vast areas in Baghdad that were evacuated of their inhabitants and that the occupation forces have made use of  the outbreak of the sectarian violence.

Al-Dari denounced the publication of photos showing Sunni districts empty of their residents after the events of Samurraa in 2006, adding that if those photos were there before, why then are they published only now.

Al- Dari indicated that those photos prove what the Muslim Scholars Association claimed a period ago warning of the sectarian violence operations. He accused the present Iraqi government of seeking for repatriation attempts that are sectarian.

Reuters News Agency published a report in which it pointed out that an American report confirmed that satellites have taken photos at night which show that the Sunni Arab districts in Baghdad which are densely populated, were evacuated of their inhabitants before the deployment of the American troops in 2007, which is a clear evidence that a sectarian cleansing had occurred before violence operations’ backed off 

Reuters confirmed that the photos are compatible with the point of view of the international organizations for refugees, and experts on Iraq affairs, on the fact that a major shift in the population structure was one of the main factors behind the sectarian violence backing off, particularly in the Iraqi capital, the center of violence where hundreds of thousands of people were killed

 
The Sunni Arab minority in many population districts was exiled by radical Shiites who were strongly angered by the bombing of Samurraa mosque in February 2006. This accident, of which Al-Qaeda was accused, caused a wave of sectarian violence.
