Naim: Siege turning into real danger heralding human catastrophe

Dr. Basem Naim, the health minister in the PA caretaker government in Gaza, has warned of a real humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip as a result of the IOA siege that almost completed its seventh consecutive month.
Naim in a statement on Wednesday called on the Arab countries to immediately act to help the besieged Palestinians. He also warned the world community of pursuing a double standard policy, asking it to respect the results of democracy.
The minister”s warning was followed by news of the death of the 52nd victim of the siege in the northern Gaza Strip district.
Health ministry sources said that Aisha Abu Warda died Wednesday night after long suffering of blood poisoning.
She was barred from leaving for treatment abroad by the IOF troops who are sealing off the Gaza crossings. The tight siege has also led to acute shortage in necessary medication.
