New settlement project in disputed area of Jabal Mukaber in J’lem

The channel reported Wednesday that the Israeli ministry of interior’s planning and construction committee in Jerusalem decided to approve a plan to build two big hotels of 1,400 rooms in the disputed area located between Talpiot settlement and Jabal Mukaber.
The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) had also announced yesterday a settlement project intended to unite the eastern and western parts of the holy city through expanding Jewish neighborhoods and settlements over Palestinian lands.
These Judaization and settlement activities and many other projects were all declared in conjunctions with the Israeli premier’s imminent visit to Washington to meet with president Barack Obama next week.
In another serious incident, the Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage reported that the IOA and its executive institutions are embarking on demolishing the Islamic holy landmarks and expanding its building activities in the area, known as the Umayyad Palaces, behind the southern wall of the Aqsa Mosque.
It said in a detailed report on Wednesday that it found out during its field visits to the excavation site that the IOA planned to change the Umayyad Palaces into a tourist park.
