Palestinian factions in Gaza agree on unified resistance strategy
GAZA, — Major Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip have agreed on the right of all resistance factions to defend themselves and their people within a unified and joint strategy.
Ismail Al-Ashqar, representing Hamas in the meeting on Saturday, described it as “positive” during which agreement was reached a number of important issues.
He told the PIC that the factions also agreed on more coordination among resistance forces in face of any possible attack on the Gaza Strip.
The MP said agreement was also reached on organizing joint rallies in major issues such as the prisoners, the separation wall, Jerusalem and national reconciliation.
Representatives of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, PFLP and DFLP attended the meeting while Fatah did not attend despite receiving an invitation.
Khaled Al-Batesh, an Islamic Jihad leader, told the PIC after the meeting that all factions endorsed resistance against the enemy with all available means.
He hoped that such meetings would lead to ending the Palestinian division and restoring national cohesion.
