PFLP-GC: Opening Rafah crossing should not be linked to internal conditions

The popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command has asked Egypt to open the Rafah crossing permanently and not to link its opening to internal Palestinian conditions.

A PFLP-GC statement said that its position was relayed during a meeting a couple of days ago in Damascus with secretary of the Egyptian intelligence Mohammed Ibrahim.

It added that the talks focused on means of ensuring success of the Palestinian national reconciliation talks along with efforts to resolve pending issues topped by releasing political detainees, forming security apparatuses in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and finally agreeing on an elections law.

Rebuilding the PLO on a national, political program is the only road leading to real Palestinian national unity within and outside Palestine, the PFLP-GC said.
