Egyptian State Security forces broke today into the house of Abdul-Galil Al-Sharnouby, editor-in-chief of Ikhwanonline, the Muslim Brotherhood official Arabic website.

Al-Sharnouby was not home during the raid, however, security forces searched his house, seizing a number of books, documents, and personal properties, in addition to terrorizing his wife and children in the middle of the night.

It is noteworthy that Khaled Hamza, editor-in-chief of Ikhwanweb, the MB official English website, was detained on Feb. 20 following his meeting with the Arab Commission of Human Rights (ACHR) chairman. In addition, Dr. Gamal Nassar, media consultant for the Muslim Brotherhood Guidance Bureau, was arrested yesterday  by the Egyptian authorities as a part of the government’s crackdown, not only against the Muslim Brotherhood leaders and affiliates to prevent them from fielding candidates in the upcoming elections, but also against all MB media outlets.
