Poll: Majority of Egyptians Will Not Vote for Woman President

A recent study conducted by the Cabinet’s Information Center found that the Egyptians refuse the woman as a president f the country and exclude such an idea for the near future.

 

The study stressed that the Egyptians see such a post as burdensome and hard for the woman to bear. Some people derive their opinion from the standing religious controversy regarding the issue and from customs warning the man against being ruled by a lady. Egyptians belittled the woman’s access to the ministers and PA and the consequent ambitions of being a president.

 

They asserted that presidency cannot be handled except by men, because the woman’s capabilities don’t empower her to do that.

 

On the other hand, pro-woman rights centers and societies criticized the study results and indicated that the society still needs more awareness of the woman’s rights despite the recent progress.
