President Morsi Media Advisor: Egypt State Apparatus Exercises Direct Control of Media

Ahmed Abdul-Aziz, media advisor to Dr. Mohamed Morsi, the legitimate President of Egypt, confirmed that the country’s sovereign authorities have direct control of media organizations in Egypt since the July 3 coup, as they endeavor to market the military coup through ‘Moral Affairs’ officers stationed within the offices of each satellite TV channel and every newspaper that wants to remain in business.

In a statement to “Al-Jazeera Live Egypt” satellite TV channel, Abdul-Aziz revealed that the Presidential institution had reliable and confirmed information that there was direct intervention by Egypt’s intelligence and State Security apparatus in the work of newspapers and satellite TV channels, as they persistently attacked the President and sought to tarnish his image through relentless vicious campaigns of utter lies and fabricated accusations against the President and his aides. He affirmed that President Morsi insisted on dealing with these institutions through legal channels, rejecting use of any exceptional solutions.
