Press Release : Alliance Mourns the Death of Mr. Nelson Mandela by an Official Delegation Representing the Egyptian People

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the death of Mr. Nelson Mandela, an extra-ordinary leader and a staunch fighter for freedom, who throughout his life "cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony with equal opportunities". Mr. Mandela’s heroic struggle for freedom, justice and human dignity has made him a powerful source of inspiration for the oppressed throughout the world.
The Egyptians and particularly the Freedom and Justice Party are indebted to the great support the ANC has given to the Egyptian people in their struggle towards a democratic reform. An official delegation representing the Egyptian people is joining the world in paying tribute to Mandela and bid him farewell. The delegation includes Dr Abdelmawgood Dardery, representative of Egyptian people and the Lower House of Parliament, Dr Maha Azzam, General Coordinator of Egyptians for Democracy and Ms. Mona AlQazzaz, representative of the Egyptian revolutionary youth. Dr A. Dardery will be coming from Malaysia where he represented the legitimate parliament of Egypt at the ruling party in Malaysia (UMNO) general assembly.
We, as representatives of the Egyptian people, offer our deep condolences to the President and people of South Africa for the profound loss Mr. Mandela’s death has caused to the world. We value South Africa’s support to the people of Egypt during these difficult times as they fight similar battle against those who violate their very basic human rights.
We hope our younger generations living in peace and harmony will be able to tell the rest of the world the story of our two great nations, and how they triumphed as they fought against oppression, injustice and discrimination for the sake of freedom, democracy and human dignity.
