Egyptian Interior Min. Rounds up 36, Cairo Court Releases 270 Brotherhood Members

South Court last Thursday ordered more than 270 Muslim Brotherhood members released, topped Sayyed Nezeil, the Muslim Brotherhood"s Giza administrative office chief. The Brotherhood members and leaders were detained against the backdrop of Gaza incidents. Those released include 9 Brotherhood members from Beheira, 34 from Dakahlia, 24 from Damietta, 20 from Bani Sweif, 40 from Giza, 15 from Monoufia, 3 from Al Fayyoum, 2 from Kafr El Sheikh, 68 from Gharbiya, one from Asyut, 16 from Sharqiya and 20 Muslim Brotherhood members and leaders from the capital Cairo.

These members and leaders were arrested in early 2009, Jan, 2nd, 2009 in the peak of Gaza incidents, during demonstrations held in Egyptian squares protesting at Zionist massacres against besieged Palestinian people in Gaza Strip amid an Arab and international silence.

In a related context, the Interior Ministry issued arrest warrants against 36 Muslim Brotherhood leaders and members in three governorates after they were held for five days inside central security headquarters. Of these 36, 23 are from Sharqiya, 10 from Suez governorate and 3 are from Ismailiya governorate.

They were arrested on Feb, 6th, 2009, in a down town Cairo peaceful march that The Muslim Brotherhood chairman called for. They were arrested in the demonstration along with dozens others.
