Dr. Mohammed Saad El-Katatni, head of the Muslim Brotherhood Parliamentary Bloc and one of the attendees of President Barack Obama’s speech in Cairo today, stressed to in an exclusive statement to Ikhwanweb that the speech "has many positive aspects, among them is his call to work and cooperate for the good of humanity". Katatni added that Muslims are awaiting the actual translation of these words told by Obama into change of US policies.

Katatni specifically praised the President’s call for democratic elections in the Muslim world and calling on Arab leaders to respond to the aspirations of their people for democracy, achieving economic development and cooperation in addition to fulfilling promises of gender equality in education.

He also added “President Obama’s speech also has some negative aspects as he spoke frankly of US support to Israel and its right to self-defense while denying that right for Hamas describing it as “Violence”. He also spoke about the suffering and the agony of the Israeli victims of the so called violence, while ignoring the suffering or Palestinian civilians who are victims of Israel’s disproportionate use of force.
